Computer Based Testing Available

As we have mentioned in previous issues of the PCB Newsletter, computer based testing will be offered beginning with the December administration for all of our international reciprocal credentials.  These exams include the CAC, CAC Diplomate, CCS, CPS, CCJP and CCDP.  For the time being, all of these exams will continue to be offered as paper and pencil exams as well.  Therefore, candidates applying for these credentials will have the choice of taking the exams on computer or paper/pencil.

Two of the major benefits of taking the written exam on computer is 1) the candidate will have a two week period of time in which to schedule his/her exam and 2) preliminary test results will be provided to the candidate within minutes of completing the exam.

Currently, there are only two computer based testing sites in Pennsylvania – one in the Harrisburg area and one in Philadelphia.  We hope to add additional computer testing sites in the coming year.

All upcoming candidates will be sent information on computer based testing, including how to schedule, exact location of testing site, deadline for scheduling, arrival time, etc.  Also, the cost for computer based testing will be slightly higher for the candidate that chooses this option.

PCB’s other written examinations (case manager, recovery specialist, allied addiction practitioner) will continue to only be available as paper/pencil exams.
