Status: Full-time/Part Time

Schedule: Monday through Friday between 8am to 6pm

Payrate: $20.00 to $24.00 hourly

First Children Services is currently seeking a Behavior Technician (BT/RBT) to join our team! We proudly supported our focus on education in a new partnership with Capella University, where our employees can take advantage of free CEUs and certificates.

Day to day primary functions:

Work 1:1 with client in independent and group settings
Read and implement individualized treatment plans
Collect session data and submit documentation in a timely manner
Support healthy communication, social and behavioral skills
Provide interactive therapeutic support to extinguish or minimize maladaptive behaviors
Collaborate with the treatment team to increase positive behavioral outcomes

What we require from you:

Minimum of a high school diploma and willingness to complete the RBT curriculum and get certified
1 year minimum of working with children
1 year of working in a direct care human services profession preferred but not required
Comfortable with using technology for daily documentation
Strong interpersonal and documentation skills
Willingness to accept and implement feedback
Ability to stand, bend, kneel and run during shift

Responsibilities

Implement ABA Principles: Demonstrate proficiency in applying basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Provide Direct Services: Deliver clinical services to assigned caseload as outlined in IEPs or insurance authorizations.
Execute Teaching and Behavioral Plans: Implement teaching methodologies and behavioral interventions according to IEPs and behavior plans.
Record Data: Accurately record academic and behavioral data as per outlined measurement systems.
Complete Paperwork: Ensure all required paperwork for direct services is accurately completed.
Performance Evaluation: Achieve a minimum score of 80% on monthly feedback tools assessing the consistent and accurate implementation of academic and clinical programming.
Supervisory Meetings: Meet monthly with the supervising BCBA to review feedback tools.
Data Entry: Input data for each client into the EHR system after each session and before converting session notes/time sheets.
Appointment Management: Convert appointments in the EHR system by the end of the appointment unless otherwise directed by a supervisor, ensuring inclusion of session data, a session note, and provider signature.
Custodial Care: Provide general custodial care, including feeding, personal hygiene, and other primary care needs.
Implement Support Plans: Ensure the implementation of Individual Support Plans.
Policy Compliance: Provide care in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
Attendance: Comply with the agency’s attendance policy and report to work regularly.
Safety and Health Practices: Adhere to workplace safety and health policies and procedures.
Ethical Conduct: Follow the agency’s Corporate Compliance and Ethical Conduct policies, as well as all policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Meeting Attendance: Attend staff meetings as assigned.
Maintain Certifications: Keep current CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certifications.
Maintain RBT Credential: Keep the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential up to date.
Annual Training: Complete 20 hours of training annually.
Regular Supervision: Meet regularly with the supervising BCBA as per BACB guidelines and State regulations.
Additional Duties: Perform other job duties as assigned by the overseeing Assistant Director or Director of ABA Services.

Qualifications

Education: Minimum high school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field preferred.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities, ABA, or direct support in human services preferred.
RBT Eligibility: Must be eligible to sit for the RBT exam within 90 days of hire.
Clearances: Current within 1 year:
PA or NJ Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
PA or NJ Criminal Clearance (Act 34)
Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)
Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168) – for each relevant employer
Training Requirements:
Mandated Reporter Training (Act 31)
Arrest and Conviction Report (Act 82)
CPR/First Aid certification, renewed every 2 years
Tuberculosis (TB) screening
Safety Care certification (crisis prevention)
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver’s license with good driving privileges if travel is required for assigned cases.
Personal Device: Must have a personal electronic device with internet connectivity for data collection and timekeeping records (e.g., laptop, tablet, smartphone).
