JOB TYPE: Full-time with benefits
JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Spanish-speaking Peer Recovery Specialist to work with Philadelphia Treatment Court Enhancement Project participants. PTCEP supports people who are struggling with opioid use disorders and are at a high risk for criminal recidivism. The Peer Recovery Specialist will work alongside Case Managers to provide or connect participants with services such as treatment, evaluation, counseling, education, employment, housing, Medical Assistance, family involvement, and more.
WORK HOURS:
- Typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Must be flexible to work evening and weekend hours to support participants
- Must be able to provide on-call support on a rotating basis (addl. compensation provided)
COMPENSATION:
- PHMC Pay Scale: Grade 14

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Meet with participants face-to-face and by phone.
- Identify community resources including job readiness, educational, vocational, medical, mental, housing, and family support.
- Reach out to new participants and orient them to the program.
- Travel locally to treatment facilities, recovery houses, court, worksites, and program sites to outreach to participants.
- Attend Case Management team meetings.
- Share your personal story of recovery with participants.
- Help participants in areas such as self-esteem, conflict resolution, assertiveness, and other recovery skills.
- Meet participants at community-based appointments such as self-help meetings (AA, NA, etc.), doctor’s appointments, food pantries, etc.
- Let the Case Management team know if participants are experiencing behavioral or health-related problems.
- Complete required assessments.
- Provide on-call support.
- Fluent in Spanish
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience supporting individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders
- Personal lived experience with substance abuse and the criminal justice system
- Must be a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) or Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) at time of hire OR become certified within the first 90 days of employment
