JEVS Human Services is seeking a Part Time Certified Peer Specialist for​our Community Living and Home Supports (CLHS) program. With the support of our caring and experienced staff, CLHS helps individuals with intellectual disabilities live with independence in one of our 28 community homes. Each home enhances the residents' interest and abilities, with an emphasis on community involvement, stability, and maintaining important ties to family and loved ones.

The Certified Peer Specialist empowers and motivates people to work as partners toward recovery – feeling the way they want to feel, making their lives the way they want them to be, developing goals, achieving and keeping those goals and moving toward meeting life goals.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Work with individuals and groups to implement an action plan to achieve personal recovery goals; provide activities, education, skill teaching and opportunities on site and in the community that facilitate a recovery orientation and progress toward goals. Promote participants self-advocacy skills. Demonstrates leadership by promoting a peer support culture within the program, developing a peer government, giving presentations on the role of the CPS to agency members, community resource liaison and family members. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills & Requirements:

- Meet and maintain CBH credentialing and training requirements as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist/Worker within designated time frame
- Must be a Certified Peer Specialist and have been working in the field for 1 year

This is a part time position with flexible hours
