Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of a culture of recovery and self-determination through building peer relationships, sharing personal achievements, and exposure to successful experiences.
• Engage with persons in recovery by identifying their strengths and existing supports and linking them with community resources.
• Create a partnership with peers and family members by sharing information about support services and resources available through the community.
• Co-facilitate meetings to nurture a peer support culture; develop & facilitate Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP).
• Accompany and support persons in recovery in social/leisure, education and occupational skills; provide hands on support to teach self-advocacy skills.
• Complete required program documentation, assist persons in recovery in completing paperwork.
• Perform outreach activities to reengage peers and program activities in person or by phone

Qualifications

Peer Specialists Certification issued by the PA Certification Board.
Current or former recipient of mental health and/or co-occurring services. High school diploma or GED.
