Responsibilities

As Coordinator of Reading Area Community College Services, you will provide direct but brief counseling and intervention services designed to support the students at Reading Area Community College as well as coordinates and develops its onsite counseling services, student workshops, intervention, and prevention. You will work closely with the direct supervisor and collaboratively with RACC staff. You will serve as a liaison between RACC staff and Berks Counseling Center.

YOU WILL…
- Ensure that students have access to BCC services as appropriate.
- Provide screening, assessment, and evaluation of students.
- Coordinate transition to BCC outpatient services, when applicable.
- Participate in RACC’s Care Team.
- Develop and provide RACC community workshops on a variety of behavioral health topics.
- Assist with calling and interacting with mobile crisis services.

Qualifications

- A bachelor’s degree in a related social service field
- At least two years of direct counseling and substance abuse counseling experience (including relevant internship). Experience developing new services preferred. Bilingual: English/Spanish a plus.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week within agency hours of operation, which are 8am-8pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm Friday with Saturday hours, when applicable.

All offers of employment are contingent upon the following: 1) Receipt of results of a satisfactory drug and alcohol screening test. 2) Receipt of the originals of the following background checks: PA State Police Criminal History, PA State Child Abuse, and DPW FBI Criminal History. These clearances must be valid within the 12 months prior to employment. A conviction is not a bar to employment; however, a review will be conducted to make a determination of employment should a conviction be present. 3) Receipt of original documentation and verification of relevant degrees, diplomas, certificates, or licensure. 4) Confirmation that you are not on the OIG Federal Healthcare Program Exclusion from Participation list. Should you appear on this list, Berks Counseling Center is prohibited from employing you.
